    Thanksgiving Promotion!

Happy Thanksgiving to all Emailbrain Blog Readers!

Thanksgiving is a beautiful time of the year, in which we gather together to give thanks. In life, we must live by the principle of thankfulness, and not only talk about it. We would certainly be happier human beings if we learn to appreciate what we have, and what is around us, rather than just taking everything for granted. Thanksgiving is the enemy of dissatisfaction and for that reason, it is really important not have a complaining attitude towards like, but by the contrary always have a thankful attitude. This Thanksgiving Day, let’s all think about Thankfulness, and the real reasons why we should be thankful. Let’s look around so we can see that even though we do not have everything that we want, what we want is not always what we need.

As Cicero once said: “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.” ~

On our last blog John Michael asked whether it can happen that when you send out a newsletter, it comes out a way but when you send it to a mailing list, it comes out differently. Well, what you send out as a test, is what you will see when you send it out as a mailing list, if you send it to the same email address. It is a really important question, and I am really glad to answer it, so many of you can be clear on this.

    Now, our Thanksgiving promotion!

Testing the Links in your Email Marketing Campaigns

I would like to thank all followers for reading all our blogs, and following us so intensely.

Phoebe asked in the last blog if we could explain databases a little further, and next blog will be on databases, as per Phoebe’s request. In regards to what Mark Brown asked in the last blog, whether he should use a HTML program or the Emailbrain editor. Well that really depends on what you would like to do. If your knowledge on HTML is very advanced, and you would like to make many different things and designs in the newsletter, then you are better off using Dreamwaver or Front Page. However, if you would like to use one of our templates and customize it, or start from scratch a basic newsletter, then it is easier to use our Editor.
Mary, we are really glad that you like our blog, and facebook and twitter tips. In regards to your question, yes, there are better times during the week than others to send out your newsletters. I will make a blog very soon, solely on this topic, so stay tuned!

Now, today’s topic will be in regards to testing the Links in your Email Marketing Campaigns.

I would like to advice you on something that occurs, that many of you do not realize.

Many times I have received in my personal email messages of Email marketing and when I open them, and click on one of its links, it does not open. Sometimes these links take me to an error called 404 or simply to a  page that says that the link does not exist.

It is really a bad situation for the person who sent the email because many people will open that email, and the person/company who sent the email could lose credibility, and show that the company is not showing commitment towards their clients.

So as a conclusion, always make sure that your links work, and double check before sending. Always send a test send to someone else in your office, so they can test all the links as well.

When you verify that all the links are working, then you know for sure that you may send out your newsletters to your clients.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Send your Newsletters on Time.

Kind regards to all our users and future users.

Today, I would like to start by informing you that I would like to receive  suggestions from your side, from those subjects that you would like me to explain in a deeper manner, o simply general suggestions that you would like to do for us.

I look forward to your suggestions…

Now, jumping to today’s topic: Sending your Newsletters on Time.

If your plan includes sending your newsletter every week, stick to such plan, and send your newsletter every week.

You should try to send your newsletter the same day of the week, at the same time.

If you promise a newsletter every week, your subscribers will be waiting for your newsletter every week. If you cannot keep this promise, this will reflect in how serious you take your business. So be responsible and show that you care about your customers, and about your company.

    Have a wonderful day!

A promotion for all our Blog Followers

    Good morning!

Before I start to inform you about the promotion that we have created for all our blog followers, I would like to talk a little  bit about a comment that Britney made last week. First of all Britney, thanks for your very important comment. It is very true that the best way to avoid spam complaints is to have the people on your list double opt-in, because they are receiving the message to their email, and from there, they are confirming that it is actually them, who signed up.

It has happened in the past that someone signs up a friend, and inputs in the subscription form the email address of a friend, or of the spouse, and when it reaches the recipient, that person obviously does not recognize the email, because it wasn’t really them that signed up. At the end, this can be investigated, and we could find the IP address and time stamp of when the email address was added to the subscription form, and find out the truth, but if you wish to do the shortcut, and avoid the hassle, it is better to provide to your client the best method of subscribing to a list, which is to “Double Opt-in” as I said on the last blog, it might be more work for your clients, but it is well worth it.

Now, that this is clear, I will like to talk about today’s promotion:

It was made for all of our Blog Followers. We really hope that you take advantage of it, and that you keep reading our blogs. We will keep doing promotions just for our blog readers, so stay tuned!

Remember that if you are a paying account, simply click on the “Paying Accounts- Click Here” button, and if you are a trial account, simply click on the “Trial Accounts-click here” button.

    What are Opt-In Emails?

First of all, I want to let you know that we will have a Blog Promotion, for all our Blog readers!! It will be starting next Monday, so make sure you read our blog next Monday, so you can take advantage of it.

optinToday’s Topic: What are opt-in emails?

I have noticed that many people have the doubt of what are opt in emails. So today, I will explain you a little deeper about the subject.

Let’s start with the definition of opt-in:

It is the action to agree via email or other way to receive email marketing messages, or giving a particular individual, webpage or company, permission in order to send them their emails. There are various types of verification and some need more work than others. (Double Opt-in, Unsubscribe, and Opt-in).

Now that we now the definition, I will explain a little deeper. Opt-in is when your clients provide permission to receive your information.

The methods by which they can provide permission are:

-A subscription form on your website

-A subscription form on your newsletters

    - During company events, you can have a subscription form on the entrance, where people can sign up.

Once these people register, and provide you with their emails, and specify that it is ok for you to send them emails, you will then have written proof that they subscribed to be on  your list.

You must ask yourselves why it is so important that the emails are opt-in. It is in fact really important because we do not want these people to take your messages as spam, and delete them, without even having taking a look at them. If they do not register to be on your list, and you start sending them emails, it is very possible that they will make a spam complaint against your account. When a spam complaint is received, your account then goes on hold until you are able to provide proof of opt-in. If you can provide proof of opt-in, we then unblock your account, and put the person who made the complaint on a blacklist. That way next time you send an email to your mailing list, that person will not receive an email from you. If you cannot show proof of opt-in, we will ask you proof of opt in, of your list in general.

If this is also not provided, we will have to take actions in your account, up to cancelling your account. Emailbrain complies with the anti-spam laws showed on this link:

The Coalition Against Unsolicited E-mail: http://www.cauce.org/

    FTC’s CAN-SPAM Law:  http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/business/ecommerce/bus61.shtm

Remember: If you are uploading a list into Emailbrain, you must confirm that it is a 100% opt in list. Emailbrain has the right to ask for proof of opt-in, and if the client cannot provide them, they result could be the cancellation of the account.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

How can I make my list grow? How can I create my list?

First of all, I would like to respond to AashLund, that had an inquiry, asking if it was possible to place a field in Emailbrain that will make clients choose how often they want to receive a newsletter from you.

Basically all there is to this, is to add that field on your database, and use our query feature to create two new lists that can be called weekly and another called bi-weekly, depending on whether they would like to receive your emails on a weekly basis or a biweekly basis. Also, thanks for your nice comments Kadar.

Now, going to today’s theme: How can I make my list grow? How can I create my list?

Many of you will ask yourselves, how can I make my list grow, or how can I create my list from scratch? What techniques are out there to gather more email addresses?

There are many ways to create or to make your lists grow, opt-in ways of course (I believe this is a good theme for my next blog). You may create or grow your list by doing the following:

Include a subscription form in your website. All our clients will find a Subscription Form, which you can include in your website. This will help you get the email addresses and any other information you find necessary.

Always promote your newsletters. How to do this? On the top part of your business card, include a sentence that says: “Receive additional information in your email, simply register is our website http:www.xxxxx.com/”. This will not only make the people register for your newsletter, but also it will get them to know your website.

    - If your business is on a physical location, ask your visitors to fill out a form where they provide you with their information, and that way you can send them information. This way, they are giving you written authorization that they wish to receive via email information on your products and/or services.

-The best way to create your list is concentrating on the quality of your content. Giving important information on your newsletters, will make them gain interest on the information you send, plus they will want to forward it to their friends.

So start growing up your list, because once your list grows, your business will also grow.
