Use a Template for your Newsletters
Many people may think that it makes sense to use a template for sending your newsletters, but believe it or not there are still people who do not use it and believe that by using a background color is sufficient. But here you will see a  few reasons why you should use a template in your email marketing campaigns.
    1. Your customers will recognize the newsletter.
    2. Your customers will know what to expect.
    3. It will make your newsletter organized and professional.
    4. When you are editing your newsletter every week /every other week /month, it will be much easier and faster to edit.
Lastly, I advise you to have standard template to use most of the time, but also to have some alterative templates for special occasions, that way you can show a little creativity and personalization.

How to embed a subscription form on your website

Embedding a subscription form onto your website is ideal if you would like to put your entire subscription form onto a page within your website. The embed subscription form works if you are wanting to capture a subscriber’s email address as well as extra information about them, such as city, gender etc.

Navigate your way into Subscription Form >> Put it on your website and select the “Embed subscription form” option.

This extra information about each subscriber that is captured on your subscription form gets stored in the dataset/address book section. With the embed subscription form option you have the javascript and a non-javascript version.

The javascript version is useful in that it allows for subscribes, unsubscribes and update profile functions.

Use the non-javascript version if you would just like to capture subscribes and if your website does not support javascript.

    a) Select the “Embed subscription form” option in the main menu. Now click next.

    b) You’ll need to decide if you would like to use the non-javascript or javascript version. If you choose the javascript version your website will need to support javascript.

If it does not support javascript then simply select the “non-javascript” version. Geocities and MySpace are 2 examples of websites that do not support javascript.

    < !–[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]–>
    < !–[endif]– >
    < !–[if !vml]–>< !–[endif]– >

    c) Copy the code that appears in the pane and paste it onto your website. You can also email to code to yourself.

If you would like to specify the page tin your website that clients return to after subscribers have submitted their information you can do so quite easily. You simply do the this by altering the code slightly once it is in your website.

Look for the below field in the code and make the necessary changes. The code will look like this: < input type=”hidden” name=”ReturnURL” value=”" >

    Replace here: < input type=”hidden” name=”ReturnURL” value=”http://www.mywebsite.com/” >

If you would like to prevent your subscription form from resizing, you’ll also need to make changes in the code. Where you see the word “resize”, change the value to 0 – this will prevent your subscription form from resizing.

Three Important Points on Email Marketing

    Tags:

    1. Opt in – Get Permission
One of the most important things in Email Marketing is to get permission from the recipients to receive your newsletters. Without obtaining this permission you may be considered a spammer and be blocked by email providers. By the contrary, by obtaining the permission of your clients, you are creating a relationship with them so that your business can grow.

    2. The Content
Give your subscribers what they want to receive, what they registered to receive. If you have to segment your list do it, but always give them the correct information. Do not waste your time or your subscribers’ time by giving them information irrelevant to them, which in the end will come  to them unsubscribing from your list. Remember that there should always be a balance between images and text, always put a flashy subject line and this will invite your recipients to read all of your newsletters.

    3. The Analysis
Study in detail every submission you make, how many people opened your newsletter, unsubscribed, forwarded it etc. Analyze how much interest your newsletter obtained, and if this newsletter fulfilled its objectives.

Place a Background Image in Your Newsletter

    Tags: , , , ,

Sometimes we would like to use background images to give that extra touch to our newsletters. But while testing only looks good on some email providers,o n the rest we see distorted code or it just does not look good.
To solve this problem in your HTML code you must add on the label or <table> <td> that was used for the background, you should add “background”, which will add the background image and also to prevent the code from damaging , you should use the cSS property “background” within the attribute style that will be put inside <td>, <table> applies even to put it in the general fund of the file, in the body tag.
    For Example
    <td style=”background:url(http://www.dominio.com/fondo.jpg) top center repeat #f9fdfa;” background=” http://www.dominio.com/fondo.jpg” bgcolor=”#f9fdfa” valign=”top” width=”105“>

    Send Valuable Information

Send information that is interesting to your customers, if you have multiple departments in your company, try to send them what each one is interested for, also segment your lists.

If important information was promised, provide them important information, otherwise you will see that they will start to unsubscribe from your newsletters.
If your customers see that the information is really valuable it is more likely that they will forward it to their friends and this of course is a benefit for you, because your own customers are doing advertising for your brand, and you will get new subscribers to your newsletters.
